Therapist Jenna Hardy-Surina of The Medical Therapist serving people with a medical diagnosis or disability.

My Story

After college I entered into the workforce in multiple types of physical health settings. From hospitals to health care facilities, I ended up settling my roots at The Perfect Step, an exercise-based paralysis recovery center. I had the honor of helping rehab people living with all types of neurological injuries and diagnoses. Through a decade of experience in this area, I witnessed the major gap in the holistic care for people living with a diagnosis, injury and disability, especially when it came to addressing the mental and emotional aspects of these diagnoses. Wanting to do more, I returned to school and got my Masters in Clinical Psychology to support people and their families going through these life changing circumstances.

I have two children. My dog Stella and my 3 year old daughter. In my free time I like to do anything that gets me outdoors. You can often find me at college baseball games, farmers markets, and going on long walks with my dog. I’m a huge LAFC fan and I am always open to discussing anything revolving around soccer.

Once I started working full time as a therapist I realized what is there not to love about therapy? I know, I'm biased, but I was once a client before I was a therapist! I think the best part about therapy is when people discover their capabilities to heal themselves. To know that you have everything you need within you to heal is so empowering.

Who I Work With

I'm a therapist who helps people who've had their life flipped upside down by a diagnosis, injury, or disability and are struggling with hopelessness to find themselves again by rewriting a bigger and better story for the next chapter of their life.

I have experience working with people with a variety of different types of injuries or disabilities, from spinal cord injuries to traumatic brain injuries.
